Have you ever had a quote speak to you?

Not just something that flitted in and out of your brain, but something that took up residence in your very being? I have. And I want to share it with you:

Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.

My man Ralph Waldo Emerson was on to something!

You hear it all the time, “Go to college; get a good 9-5 job; get married; have a big house, 2.5 kids and a white picket fence.” That’s the “normal” path everyone is supposed to take, right? Now, don’t get me wrong: I did go to college, I am married with a house and 2 (.5 if you count my cat!) kids and I love my life! But that whole 9-5 job? That was never for me.

See, I come from a long line of entrepreneurs. My grandfather left his family and everything he knew at age 15 to come to America and become the proud owner of a business in Harvard Square Boston. His business led him to have many clients and become good friends with Nobel Prize winners and high government officials. My father could turn anything into a successful business. 2 of his companies are still going strong even 17 years after his death! These men were never ones to follow the “normal” path; they left trails.

To say I get it honestly would be an understatement. As such, I started to drift off onto the path of being a professional photographer. I specialized in weddings, but realized my heart wasn’t in it. I also had to give up almost all weekends with my husband and little boys. That time was so precious to me as my husband is off working on a ship for half the year and my little boys will only be little boys for a few more years. I needed to find a path that would lead me to make the kind of income I wanted to be making, by working a lot less and being with my family a lot more.

You know what I found? There wasn’t a path for that.

So I made a trail.

Was it scary? Incredibly!

But was it worth it? Abso-freaking-lutely!

I wanted to focus on maternity and newborn photography instead of wedding photography. I had already fallen in love with capturing couple’s beginnings and was now falling in love with how much more I could make specializing in this niche! I went from profiting $200 per client session, to over $2,000 per client session, almost overnight! Now, I get to pick and choose when works best in my schedule to have sessions with my clients. No more lost weekends! But best of all, I get to help others (like you!) find and create their own profitable studio.

I can’t wait to help you on your entrepreneurial trail and guide you every step of the way!
